Frederick Queens as an engineer during Vitorum's sewage tunnel renovation
The Queens family is particularly notable for its impact and reputation on the planet Hados. While Frederick Queens himself was born and raised on Earth, he was descended from a long line of tradesmen and military men and women who left their mark on Hados. Many of the Queens family members spent their entire life working on the harsh planet, instilling the bloodline with a strong sense of duty, grit, and resilience.
Given the heavy military presence on Hados, it followed that many Queens family members joined the Unum Vires forces. One of these members was Frederick's great great grandfather, Tyrius Queens, who was present during the infamous slag outbreak on Hados in 2822. After another decade of service, Tyrius retired to planet Earth. In the year 3006, Fred Queens was born to Johnathan and Georgia Queens in a town a few miles east of the city of Vitorum. Once he graduated from secondary school, he trained to be a civil engineer, then pursued a career as an electrical engineer. After varied success in both fields, Fred accepted a position as a crew chief for the development of Vitorum's expanding tunnel systems.
Vigilante Justice[]
As Vitorum's various tunnel systems expanded, an unintended consequence began to emerge. Criminals, drug dealers, and ex-comms began using the unfinished tunnels as for illegal and violent purposes. Out of the eye of the Loci Vires, they conducted no small number of crimes in the tunnel system. Fred voiced his concerns to the Loci Vires and requested action from police forces. Some cameras were installed and several patrols were made, but it made little difference. After two of his own crew members were found dead, Fred decided to take matters into his own hands. Using his expert knowledge of the tunnels and his technical abilities, he and several of his willing crewmen constructed a device to trap several gang members in one of the tunnels, enabling the Loci Vires to apprehend them. Anticipating the consequences, Fred and his crew were prepared when outside gang members attempted to retaliate a few days later. Not only did they trap their aggressors; he and his crew members beat several of them within an inch of their lives. The Loci Vires were somewhat grateful but warned Frederick that he was out of line. After completion of his current project, Fred enlisted in the Loci Vires himself.
After several years as an effective Loci Vires officer, Fred met and soon married a woman named Elyssa Penn. It was not long before they had a daughter together. Fred returned to work as a tunnel electrician in the year 3034. Here he would work until the catastrophic slag outbreak of 3044.
